- This describes a situation I had, which was due to a "pilot error": I had
- put run commands for an incompatible bunch of hacks into my startup-sequence
- file (sys:s/startup-sequence). Try booting without a startup-sequence file.
- When you turn power on (or give the three finger salute), keep both mouse
- buttons depressed until the boot screen shows up. Then select "boot with
- no startup-sequence" (or very similar, I'm not at my A4000 right now), then
- press "boot". If my theory is correct (that you may have a messed up startup
- file), you can now edit it (for example, take out all "run <hackname>" stuff,
- make sure that the first command is setpatch, etc). And if you really have a
- hardware problem, you will probably not be able to get your system to boot
- even without a startup-sequence file. I hope this helps, it is such a handi-
- capped feeling to have ones A in the shop...
-
- Good luck,
